Mansion Tours

Immerse yourself in the architecture and history of the iconic Blue Mansion, one of George Town’s most lauded architectural gems.  Our trained guides will provide comprehensive insight into how the mansion came to be,  its heritage, and the man whose vision brought this grand home to fruition. Or choose a self guided tour if you prefer to go at your own pace.

Important Note: As are tours are often sold out, we recommend buying your tickets online well in advance

Daily Guided Tours

We conduct 2 tours daily at 11am and 3.30pm. Each tour takes a maximum of 20 people, and we recommend booking online in advance to avoid delays or disappointments.

Covering the reception hall, the famed courtyard and the museum exhibition on the second floor, the tour will take 45 minutes in total.

We have reduced tour capacities to preserve the integrity of our 130-year-old mansion and minimise wear on this historic site. This decision allows us to better uphold the architectural beauty and heritage of The Blue Mansion for future generations.

Please note that in order to guard the privacy of our hotel guests, only some parts of the mansion are accessible during the tour, but we do encourage guests to experience different facets of The Blue Mansion through staying with us, having a classic cocktail at the bar, enjoying a meal at our restaurant – Indigo, or refreshments at Cafe Mangga.

We have adjusted our tour capacities to ensure the continued preservation of The Blue Mansion and better care for our 130-year-old architectural treasure.

Effective January 31st 2025, our daily guided tours will now accommodate only 20 guests per session (previously 36), while our self-guided tours will be limited to 10 guests per hour (previously 12).

This decision was not made lightly, but it reflects our dedication to maintaining the integrity of this historic mansion. By reducing footfall, we aim to safeguard its intricate details, delicate structures and timeless beauty for generations to come.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we continue to share Cheong Fatt Tze’s legacy in the most responsible way possible.
